The Kazan project entered the final of the International Award for Urban Innovation

The capital of Tatarstan became the second Russian city that entered the final shortlist of 15 applicants for the award.

(KZN.RU, September 14). Kazan entered the final shortlist of applicants for the IV International Guangzhou Prize for Urban Innovations for the first time.

From 31 May to August 31, 2018, the organizing committee received 313 projects from 70 countries, including 4 applications from Kazan. From 8 to 12 of September, the Technical Committee selected 15 cities, each with one project. For the first time, Kazan entered the final shortlist of contenders for victory along with New York, Sydney, Guadalajara, Milan, and other cities. The best project of the capital of Tatarstan was the project of the Committee for Economic Development “Social and Economic Development of Kazan”.

In December of this year, five winner cities will be known. In addition, the organizing committee will select the most popular finalist among the public, reports the Committee for Tourism Promotion.

The Guangzhou Prize has been played since 2012. The finalists of 2016 included Boston (USA) and Copenhagen (Denmark). Until 2018, the Russian city got to the final of the prize only once (Perm, 2012).
