(KZN.RU, September 24). Dmitry Tsinman, a Kazan international grandmaster, became the winner of the European Championship in Russian checkers among men in individual and team competitions. The tournament was held from 15 to 23 of September in Kranevo (Bulgaria).
Dmitry Tsinman won a silver medal in a lightning game and took third place in the classical program. In the team tournament, Dmitry Tsinman and his pupil Andrey Gnelitsky, the international master, together with Grigory Getmansky, the international master from Tula, became the European champions in the Russian national team in the lightning program and won two more silver medals in the fast and classical program.
32 players from 14 countries, such as Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Germany, Georgia, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Moldova, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, and Estonia, took part in the tournament of 3 programs. There are 11 international grandmasters, champions of the world, Europe, the USSR, and their countries among the participants, according to the website of the Ministry of Sports of the RT.
