Kazan Marathon: a road closure, bus traffic changes and competition schedule

<p> The Kazan Marathon, the major athletics event of spring, will take place in the capital of Tatarstan over the weekend. Thousands of official participants from all over the country and abroad will run through the central streets of the city. </p> <p> <b>When will the Kazan Marathon take place?</b> </p> <p> The Kazan Marathon will take place on May 27 and 28. On the first day of the event, children's races, slider races and a 3 km marathon will be held. On May 28, there will be races for a marathon distance of 42.2 km and a half marathon distance of 21.1 km, as well as a 10 km race. Food and rest points will be located along the route. </p> <p> <b>How many participants will take part in the event?</b> </p> <p> More than 11 thousand people from 16 countries and almost 80 regions of Russia applied to participate in the races. The most popular distance is a 10 km race, a half marathon race is on the second place, and a 3 km distance on the third. This was announced by the Tatarstan Deputy Minister of Sports Ildar Sadriev at a press conference. </p> <p> <b>What is the marathon route?</b> </p> <p> The marathon will start at the Central Stadium at 2a Tashayak Street. There athletes will receive their starting packages, change clothes, solve organizational issues. </p> <p> The marathon route runs through the main sights of Kazan, and the route is flat with a slight difference in altitude. </p> <p> <b>What roads will be closed during the marathon?</b> </p> <p> Traffic will be restricted along the streets: Pravo-Bulachnaya and Levo-Bulachnaya, Tashayak, Baturina, S.Khakima, M.Salimzhanova, Kremlevskaya Dam and others. Public transport routes will also be changed. </p> <p> <b>What events will take place during the marathon?</b> </p> <p> Free HIV testing will be conducted at the Central Stadium on May 26 from 14:00 to 18:00. On Saturday, from 10:00 to 18:00, on Friday - from 10:00 to 14:00. </p>
