The league will become an analogue of the World Marathon Majors

The Kazan Marathon was included in the BRICS Marathon League along with the Moscow Marathon and the St. Petersburg White Nights marathon. The project will be launched this season. The BRICS Marathon League will become an analogue of the World Marathon Majors.

It is planned to include up to 10 marathons of the BRICS countries in the league, with the organizers of which negotiations have been underway since 2023. The league will be international.

Special privileges will be introduced as motivation for marathon participants who will participate in two or three distances in a year. They will get access to additional services, souvenirs and the opportunity to enter special ratings. Detailed information can be found on the website.

According to the press office of the TIMMERMAN, in order for the marathon to be included in the league, the organizers must meet certain requirements. For example, competitions should be held according to international standards, including work with fans and runners. The tracks must be certified by an international organization (for example, AIMS), necessary number of food and refreshment points, sweepers, ambulances should be provided on the routes.
