Kazan grandmaster Ildar Ibragimov being the member of the Russian national team became the European chess champion

Chess championship among seniors was held in Croatia.

The European senior team chess championship 2019 in two age categories: 50+ and 65+ concluded in Croatia. Kazan grandmaster Ildar Ibragimov – member of the Russian national team became the champion.

In the group of 50+ the team of Russia, consisting Vladimir Burmakin, Evgeny Gleizerov, Ruslan Scherbakov, Yuri Yakovich and Kazan grandmaster Ildar Ibragimov, scored 17 points and on additional indicators overplayed the Croatian national team, which took second place. Third place was taken by the representatives of Slovenia.

In the 65+ category, the Russian team, consisting Yuri Balashov, Evgeny Sveshnikov, Evgeny Kalegin, Vladimir Zhelnin and Nikolai Pushkov, also took a first place, according to the Russian chess Federation. The team of Sweden-1 took second place and Germany team took bronze medals.
