Scientists of the Kazan Federal University have developed and patented a coating on wounds of domestic and farm animals. It has antibacterial, antifungal and healing effects.

The coating can be used in the treatment of minor injuries and in surgical practice. One of the advantages of the development is the absence of common antibacterial drugs, to which many bacteria have acquired resistance.

The coating will have to undergo additional tests confirming its effectiveness and safety, as well as certification and licensing. After that, the coating may be used in veterinary clinics and pet stores.
