Kazan participants are preparing to take part in the regional stage of the championship “Abilimpiks-2018”

The “Olympiad of Opportunities” will be held at three sites in the capital of Tatarstan.

(KZN.RU, October 11, Alina Berezhnaya). About 200 contestants from Tatarstan are preparing for the Regional Stage IV of the National Championship competitions in professional skills among people with disabilities and people with disabilities “Abilimpiks”. Competitions will be held on 25 different competencies.

The Abilimpiks is not just a professional skill competition, but a real Olympiad of opportunities. The participants are specialists with disabilities who do what they love.

“We were afraid that we would have difficulties in recruiting participants, because not everyone wants to show their professional skills to the whole country”, said Rasiya Savchenko, the director of the Kazan Trade and Economics Technical College, the head of the regional center of competence Abilimpiks. “The fears were in vain, about 200 contestants wanted to try their hand at the championship”.

In addition to the Kazan Trade and Economics Technical College, participants are trained at two more sites: the Kazan Construction College and the Small Business and Entrepreneurship College. Preparations for the national championship are carried out in 25 competencies, from woodcarving to restaurant service. 125 experienced experts help to master professional skills. Before the competition, they passed training and final certification.

“Communicating with people with disabilities is not always easy, flexibility is important. But all participants are incredibly talented, they have an overwhelming desire to win”, said Maria Soloveva, an expert on the competence of the Restaurant Service at the 4th Abilimpiks National Championship.

Participants began training in April. First, a theoretical course, and now a practical stage.

Nikita Abramov is a sophomore at the Kazan Trade and Economic Technical College, since childhood he has not heard, but he has “golden hands” and an unusually developed sense of smell. At the championship, the student will perform in the competence “Restaurant service”. Nikita can make a cappuccino and a latte with his eyes closed, knows how to please even the most fastidious guest.

“I dream of opening my own restaurant, I like cooking for people, that's why I decided to take part in Abilimpiks. Although my rivals are strong, I am confident of my victory”, Nikita Abramov shares his impressions.

Along with the students, schoolchildren and already accomplished specialists in their fields will take part in the championship. In previous years, the contestants competed among themselves in equal conditions. This time the organizers divided the participants into categories.

The winners of the regional stage will meet on November 22 in Moscow with contestants from other regions of the country. The best will receive diplomas, medals and ovations, but still the main reward is the opportunity to get an interesting job. According to the rules, this year the potential employers will evaluate the contestants.
