Fourteen athletes represented the republican team at the competitions, 9 of them were trainees of the Kazan Rowing Sports School. Polina Mukhorcheva and Daria Kletenkova won the final doubles race at a distance of 2 km. The athletes are coached by Aisylu Mingazova and Denis Chernov. In the final of the single race, Kazan athlete Artyom Kosov took third place at a distance of 2 km. He is also coached by Aisylu Mingazova.
A competition program additionally comprised single races at a sprint distance of 200 meters, according to the results of which Artyom Kosov won a bronze medal, the Sports Committee of Kazan reported.
For reference, the tournament was held at the Rowing Sports Center. It brought together 350 of the best Russian rowers, among them the silver medalists of the 2020 Olympic Games Anna Prakaten and Elena Oryabinskaya, as well as the finalist of the Tokyo Olympics, the world champion in indoor rowing Alexander Vyazovkin. The competition plan was similar to the program of the 2024 Olympic Games. The tournament was the main start of the season for Russian athletes.
