Kazan figure skater E. Tarasova paired with V. Morozov is leading in the team tournament of the Olympics

The Russian duet is ahead of the athletes from Canada and Germany after the performance in the short program.

(KZN.RU, February 9). Last night, team competition in figure skating started in Pyeongchang (Korea). In the first competition day, Russian athletes performed in a short program among men and among sports couples.

Evgenia Tarasova, a Kazan figure skater, performed in a duet with Vladimir Morozov in sports couples’ competitions. As a result of the short program, the pair showed the first result (80.92) and is ahead of rivals from Canada and Germany. E. Tarasova was appointed one of the captains of the Russian team for the team tournament. Earlier, Mikhail Kolyada, who performed in a short program among men, was the eighth.

The Republic of Tatarstan is also represented at the Olympics by skiers Andrey Larkov and Anna Nechaevskaya, as well as snowboarders Vlad Khadarin and Milena Bykova, reports the press service of the Ministry for Youth and Sports of the RT.
