Kazan has joined the international network of cities on urban lighting

LUCI Association bring together more than 70 member towns that use light as a tool for social, cultural and economic development.

Kazan has joined the LUCI (Lighting Urban Community International) Association, which is an international network of cities on urban lighting. The decision to include the capital of Tatarstan in the association was made at the LUCI Executive Committee meeting.

Created in 2002 at the initiative of the City of Lyon, today, LUCI is a non-profit organization bringing together more than 70 member towns and cities worldwide that use light as a tool for social, cultural and economic development.

The lighting appearance of Kazan includes solutions of any complexity: bright colorful facades and simple courtyards equipped with modern lighting, including energy-saving LED lamps. Every year, the automated outdoor lighting management is increasing, light lines in the city are expanding, parks and pedestrian streets of the city are being decorated with colorful light installations.

By joining the LUCI Association, Kazan will have an opportunity to exchange practices and skills in the field of outdoor lighting with other cities, as the main goal of the LUCI is bringing together different cities into an international network of cities on lighting, the Department of International and Inter-Municipal Relations of the Kazan City Duma reports.
