Kazan will host the Russian Sailing Championship

Twelve crews from Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Saratov and Chelyabinsk region will take part in the competition.

The Russian Sailing Championship will take part in Kazan from 21 to 24 July 2022. Twelve crews from the capital of the republic of Tatarstan, Yekaterinburg, Saratov and Chelyabinsk region will compete in the match races.

Kazan is hosting the All-Russian youth match racing competitions for the first time. The baton of the competitions has been handed over by the capital of the match race- Yekaterinburg, where competitions in this discipline have been held for many years.

Tatarstan team will participate in the tournament for the second time.

The championship of Russia will be held on yachts of the Rocket 610 class. The organizers of the event are the Sailing Federation of Tatarstan with the support of Technopolis Himgrad JSC, Press Office of Tatarstan Ministry of Sports reports.

Match racing is a spectacular sailing discipline. The winner is determined by a series of matches between pairs of participants, which is actually a duel between two crews. The winner is the one whose tactics turned out to be more effective.
