Kazan is depressed about weather: according to weather forecasters, warm won't be back until August 9

Monthly average air temperature in August will be approximately at a temperature 2º below normal.

In Kazan this year August will be is the cool month of the summer – according to weather forecasters, the first of the month air temperature will be at a temperature 2º below normal. The current situation provides a clear contrast between weather in the West and the East – an abnormally strong heat in Western Europe and cool weather in Eastern Europe. Because of this throughout the republic the baric hollow was formed – an area of the lowest atmospheric pressure with low temperature background, today Yuriy Perevedentsev, the head of Institute of Environmental Sciences of KFU, told at the press-conference in the IA “Tatar-inform”.

The first summer month pleased the citizens with warm weather: in June daily average temperature exceeded the standard, however at the same time the precipitation deficits has been fixed. Globally, June became the hottest month for all history of meteorological observations – that is, approximately for 180 years. The same forecasts are being taken for July – the weather forecasters promise that this year it will become one of the hottest months on the planet.

However, in Kazan, as in other cities and the regions of the republic, July weather is very different from the rest of the world – in this month, according to Yuriy Perevedentsev, air temperature fell below approximately of 1,5-2 degrees lower than usual.

“The current situation provides a clear contrast between weather in the West and the East – an abnormally strong heat in Western Europe and cool weather in Eastern Europe. They are very favorable for cyclones. They provide a low temperature background throughout the European territory, therefore it's cool, - Y.Perevedentsev informed. – Now we have so-called “weather depression”. The same low temperature background is expected soon. The anomaly accounts for 4-5 degrees and gets to 7 degrees“.

The inhabitants of the republic and its capital city wouldn't expect warm at least till August 9. Monthly average air temperature in August will account for 17-18 degrees – approximately of 2 degrees below normal. It is expected that there will be about 60 mm of precipitation – less, than in July.

The coldest July in Russia was fixed in 1994, when monthly average temperature was 17 degrees, as Y.Perevedentsev added. In 2010, there was the hottest July – average air temperature reached 27 degrees.

This summer the windy weather prevails in Kazan – the citizens are practically daily warned by the weather forecasters about gusty winds. It is due to contrast between weather in different country regions, as Y.Perevedentsev considers.

The citizens would have nothing to fear of strong and long rains, as well as to worry of air temperature which, according to Y.Perevedentsev, in general, diverges significantly from the standard.

“In general, we are close to daily average temperature. There's a slight deviation. In September it is expected the temperature parameters will be nominal“, – the speaker summed up.
