<p> More than 100 thousand tourists are expected in Kazan during the May holidays. The average load of accommodation facilities for this period is 60-90%. The director of the Committee for Tourism Development Daria Sannikova reported to the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin today at the Business Monday meeting. As the head of the city noted, all international hotel brands represented in the capital of Tatarstan continue their operation. </p> <p> “The transformation of the hotel industry began in 2013 in Kazan. We have new hotels of different levels, world–famous brands have come to us, - I.Metshin noted. - Today, the tourist potential of Kazan is not only the sights that tourists come to get acquainted with, but also the high quality of hotel services, as well as diverse catering for any budget.” All international hotel brands continue their operation in Kazan. In addition, a hotel complex at the airport was opened this year. “With the increase in the number of tourists and events that are planned in Kazan, representatives of the hotel business will obtain regular customers”, - the Mayor believes. </p> <p> Today, over 11 thousand people work in the hospitality industry in Kazan, nevertheless, there is a lack of human resources. “This is a task that representatives of the hotel business need to solve,”- the head of the city said. </p> <p> Cashback programs affected positively on the increase in the tourist flow and the increase in the number of bookings. From March 15 to April 9, residents have the opportunity to book a tour of Russia with a refund of 20% of the ticket price for the period from March 15 to June 30, 2022. The main condition is full online payment by the Mir payment system card. In addition, the cashback program applies to the sale of vouchers to children's camps. In this case, parents can count on a refund of 50% of the ticket price, but not more than 20 thousand rubles. An accommodation of a child in the camp according to the program is available from May 1 to August 31. “These measures affected positively on the loading of accommodation facilities and an increase in sales of tours to Kazan. In general, the indicators of the tourist flow are still maintained at a decent level, we observe growing interest in Kazan”, - D.Sannikova said. </p> <p> To date, there are 229 hotel facilities in the city today, which can accommodate more than 16 thousand tourists. On average, hotel facilities in March 2022 were loaded by 52%, for the May holidays, some of them are fully booked, bookings for the summer are also underway. </p> <p> Daria Sannikova noted that flights to the capital of Tatarstan are carried out in 47 directions, 11 of which are international. For the first quarter 2022 on domestic airlines, the G.Tukay International Airport served about 49 thousand passengers. In addition, on the eve of the opening of the passenger navigation season, scheduled for April 30, there is a positive trend in sales of vouchers for river cruises. To date, 70% of vouchers have been booked. A consistently high interest in Kazan can be observed in the statistics of visits to cultural sites, for example, in January-February, more than 379 thousand people visited the Kazan Kremlin, and the City Panorama Museum served more than 7 thousand visitors in the first quarter of this year. </p> <p> For reference, last year 3 million tourists visited Kazan. </p>
