New Year’s decoration of Kazan: 160 stars in Gorky Park, 3d art object “2022” and a luminous arch on Kremlevskaya Street

The heads of the districts reported to I. Metshin on the progress of festive decoration of the city.

New Year's decoration of the city has begun in Kazan: the streets will traditionally be decorated with glowing lights, art objects and flickering illumination. The festive decoration of the city was discussed at a meeting held by the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin at the Executive Committee.

According to the deputy head of the Executive Committee of Kazan Igor Kulyazhev, main city roads and traffic junctions will be festively decorated.

The pedestrian Bauman Street, bridges over Bulak, as well as Millenium Square, where luminous arches will be installed, will attract tourists and residents of the city.

For the first time, these art objects will be installed on Kremlevskaya Street, as well as Svobody Square.

The holiday mood should be felt in every corner of the city, the Mayor of Kazan noted. The heads of district administrations reported to I. Metshin about the New Year's decoration.

The head of the Aviastroitelny and Novo-Savinovsky districts Fanis Nurmukhametov said that the main New Year's site of the Aviastroitelny district – Kryliya Sovetov Park - will be decorated with an 18-meter Christmas tree, the main alley will also be decorated.

The main New Year’s site Kazan will be located, as in previous years, in the Novo-Savinovsky district near the Kazan Family Center. In total, 19 New Year’s sites will operate in the districts.

In the Privolzhsky district, a 9-meter New Year’s tree will open in the Avangard Square, and a 14-meter New Year's tree will be installed at the square in front of the Chulpan recreational center.

The head of the Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky districts, Marat Zakirov, said that square at the Philharmonic will also be decorated for the New Year holidays. In total, 47 festive sites will be organized for residents of the districts, and property management companies will install 34 Christmas trees in the yards of houses.

Yevgeny Varakin, prefect of the Old Town territory, noted that the square on Zaini Sultan Street will become the main festive site in the Vakhitovsky district.

In the Kirovsky and Moskovsky districts, the main sites for the celebration of the New Year will be Uritsky Park and Sosnovaya Roshcha Park. Public spaces will be decorated with glowing art objects, in addition, an ice rink and an ice maze will open in Sosnovaya Roshcha Park, said the head of the administration Sergey Mironov. From December 18, New Year’s festive sites will already start working in Kirovsky and Moskovsky districts. There are 12 of them in total, including two main sites, Sergey Mironov stressed.

In the Sovetsky district, beautiful Christmas trees will decorate the renovated Zvezdny and Muzykalny squares, as well as the boulevard on Fuchika Street. Another New Year’s site will be the square named after Karbyshev, said the head of the district administration Roman Fatkhutdinov.

Preparations for the holiday are carried out in the parks and squares of the city. All work on the New Year's decoration of public spaces is planned to be completed by December 20.

Robert Garipov, head of the Directorate of Parks and Squares, said that by the New Year holidays, 16 recreation areas will be decorated, 12 of them will have Christmas trees. The festive events will take place at the territory near the Bowl and the Black Lake Park.

It should be noted that this year three ice rinks will open in the parks: Black Lake, Kaleidoscope and Sosnovaya Roshcha.
