The delegation from Guangzhou (China) visited Kazan

The guests visited the House of Friendship of the Peoples of the Republic of Tatarstan, Kazan Federal University, House-Museum of Vladimir Lenin, Chaikovoye Lake and Kazan City Hall

The delegation from the Chinese city of Guangzhou arrived in Kazan with an official visit. The guests visited various city sights, including the House of Friendship of the Peoples of Tatarstan, Kazan Federal University, House-Museum of Vladimir Lenin, Chaikovoye Lake and Kazan City Hall.

Today was held a meeting with the Chief Executive of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina, and after that Deputy Mayor of Kazan Evgenia Lodvigova welcomed the delegation at the City Hall.

Deputy Mayor noted that fruitful cooperation and mutual support is a solid foundation for friendship between cities. Representatives of Kazan and Guangzhou discussed upcoming joint events. In addition, the Chinese delegation was invited to take part in the United Cities Forum – 2023, which will be held in the capital of Tatarstan at the beginning of September.

The guests also visited the park «Chaikovoye Lake», located near the city hospital №7. There they were introduced to the program «7 sources of health», and noted the high level of organization of the space. The project for the rehabilitation of the park «Chaikovoye Lake» was submitted for the «Guangzhou International Award for urban innovation». Participation in this award is one of the effective tools for spreading the best urban practices.

It was founded in 2012 to reward cities for their outstanding contribution to improving social, economic and environmental situation, as well as to develop the practice of sharing experiences in this field. In 2018, the capital of Tatarstan became a finalist of the award with the project of socio-economic development «Intercultural understanding».

The agreement on the establishment of twin relations between Kazan and Guangzhou was signed on July 6, 2012. As part of the implementation of the agreement, the Head of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Guangzhou People's Government, Mr. Zhan Decun, arrived in the capital of Tatarstan.

The official delegation included Deng Jianfu, Deputy Secretary General of the CPC Guangzhou Committee, Deng Hongyong, Deputy Director General of the Guangzhou Development and Reform Commission, Zhou Deli, Director of Development and Planning Division of Guangzhou Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, Ruan Wei, Director of Guangzhou International Exchanges Promotion Center.
