Kazan is ready to welcome tourists during the New Year holidays

<p> During the New Year holidays, traditional tourist inflows are expected in Tatarstan and its capital. According to preliminary data, hotels in the city and the republic have a high load – about 80%. On peak days – January 3 and 5 – the load reaches about 90-94%. These numbers are comparable to the same period last year, Sergey Ivanov, Chair of the Tatarstan State Committee for Tourism, said today at a press conference in the Tatar-Inform News Agency. </p> <p> According to the Director of the Committee for Tourism Development Daria Sannikova, the sales volume of Kazan tour operators today is 75% compared to last year, and during the January holidays – 67-70%. “A large number of proposals have been prepared in the republic for holidays. Today, Tatarstan is one of the most comfortable regions in Russia for tourism. All tourist sites and museum complexes are open. Restaurants are open until 24.00, and on the New Year eve they will be work until 3.00 a.m.,”- S. Ivanov said. According to him, all accommodation facilities and public places strictly comply with all the requirements of the Russian Agency for Health and Consumer Rights. </p> <p> Daria Sannikova said that Kazan has prepared an event calendar for the upcoming holidays. </p> <p> New Year's public activities in Kazan will begin on December 18 with the opening of the New Year’s tree in the Old Tatar settlement at 17.00. More than 130 outdoor events are prepared for residents and visitors of the capital of the republic of Tatarstan. </p> <p> As S.Ivanov added, tourists can also travel on the territory of the republic. </p> <p> The “1001 pleasures for the weekend” program provided a two-day tour including accommodation and meals, as well as excursions for a fixed fee in many municipal districts of the republic of Tatarstan Tourists, in particular, can visit Bolgar, Yelabuga, Chistopol, Sabinsky district, Sviyazhsk museum-Reserve. </p>
