<p> This year, 3 million flowers will be planted in Kazan. Of these, about 1.5 million seedlings, which is almost twice as many as last year, will be planted by the Municipal Unitary Enterprise Gorvodzelenkhoz. In addition, more than 2 thousand flower pots will be installed on the streets of the city. Today, the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin inspected the greenhouses of the enterprise. </p> <p> “Prior the new summer season, we traditionally pay special attention to the floral decoration of the city. This year is no exception. Only 1.5 million flowers will be planted by the employees of Gorvodzelenkhoz, 50 flower figures installations and 2 thousand flower baskets will be decorated for residents and guests of the capital,”- the Mayor said, adding that taking into account the planting of flower seedlings by other enterprises, it is planned to decorate the city with 3 million flowers. </p> <p> Roza Zabbarova, Director of Gorvodzelenkhoz, said that seedlings were grown in the greenhouses from January. In April, the seedlings were taken to the greenhouse, from where they will already be delivered to the city for planting at the end of May. In memorable places of Kazan on the eve of Victory Day, the landing will begin earlier. On May 4-5, flowers will appear in Victory, Uritsky and Petrov parks. </p> <p> Low maintenance seedlings are used for planting, in total there are about 15 varieties of flowers, such as marigolds, 120 thousand pieces are planned to be planted, cineraria – 60 thousand pieces, salvia – 60 thousand pieces and petunia – 50 thousand pieces. About 900 thousand seedlings will be planted on 47 streets of the city with a total area of 15 thousand square meters. </p> <p> This year, the city will again be decorated with floral installations, a total of 50 compositions will be prepared. 54,000 pieces of sedum will be planted on the Football Wall, 14,500 pieces of cineraria will be planted on the Boot installation, 28 thousand pieces of begonia and marigolds will be planted on the Tree installation. </p> <p> For the floral decoration of the city during the “Russia – the Islamic world: Kazanforum”, which will be held in May, more than 10 thousand petunias were planted. “This year, 485 flower baskets will be installed in Kazan. They will be placed on 22 streets – near the hotels for participants and in the city center. The works will begin on May 15,”- R. Zabbarova told the Mayor. </p> <p> After planting the flowers, they will be cared for during the summer: watered, weeded and improved. </p> <p> “No doubt, a great work has been carried out. Before we see flowers on the streets and highways, seedlings are carefully planted and cared for, and only then they are planted outdoor. This is a great creative work. I want to thank the employees of the enterprise and the improvement companies. Thank for contributing to the appearance and floral decoration of the city,”- I. Metshin said. </p> <p> The greenhouses of the Municipal Unitary Enterprise Gorvodzelenkhoz are located on Kh.Taktasha Street. About 1.5 million pieces of flower seedlings can be grown on an area of 0.8 hectares. The complex is planned to be modernized so that the greenhouse area will increase to 1.2 hectares and then 2.5 million seedlings can be grown there. </p>
