The final board meeting of the Tatarstan Ministry of Internal Affairs takes place in Kazan

An expanded meeting of the Board of the Tatarstan Ministry of Internal Affairs took place today in Kazan. The meeting summarized the results of work in 2024 and set goals for 2025.

The meeting was attended by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Ilsur Metshin, Mayor of Kazan, Viktor Demidov, Chief Federal Inspector for Tatarstan and other officials.

The Tatarstan Minister of Internal Affairs Damir Satretdinov reported: «More than 792,000 messages and applications from citizens have been responded and decisions have been made. Approximately 3 million and 200 thousand public services have been provided to residents of the republic, and the satisfaction rate with the quality of these services is almost 100%. Nearly 98,000 protocols for administrative offenses have also been issued».

Damir Sadretdinov noted that the protection of the economy from criminal encroachments remains one of the priority activities. In 2024, 2,118 economic offences were identified, which are under investigation. Most of them were classified as serious.

The number of group crimes has increased, including those committed as part of organized crime groups and criminal communities. Five criminal cases have been sent to the courts. Two of them are related to the organization of a criminal community.

«Law enforcement agencies have recorded more than 5,000 drug-related crimes. These crimes are mainly related to drug sales. More than 246 kilograms of drugs have been seized. 1,580 people have been identified as involved in the commission of these crimes. Five drug laboratories have been closed», – the minister said.

Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized the main challenges facing the department. According to him, it is necessary to carry out more consistent and effective work on all types of crime that pose a threat to society.

Economic security and the fight against corruption are essential issues. In 2024, there were 269 crimes committed in the area of budget protection.

According to Rustam Minnikhanov, it is necessary, together with other law enforcement agencies and the Tatarstan Customs, to take stronger measures to identify drug production and sources of imported raw materials.

Counter – extremism is a crucial area. Involvement of young people in destructive groups, especially through the internet, is of main concern. Schoolchildren and students are most vulnerable to these groups.

Last year, the personnel issue was discussed at a meeting of the government of the republic. «Presently, a new program for housing employees is being prepared with the participation of the State Housing Fund of Tatarstan. Implementation will begin this year», – the Rais of Tatarstan said.

In conclusion, Rustam Minnikhanov and Damir Sadretdinov presented state awards from Russia and Tatarstan to distinguished employees of the ministry. They also presented departmental awards from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
