The history of the student labor squads of Tatarstan will be presented in the National Museum of the RT

The exhibition presents photos, documents and personal collections related to commanders and fighters of different generations.

(KZN.RU, December 18). Today, the National Museum of the RT will open the exhibition “Excellent Labor Semester: the 55 anniversary of Tatarstan student squads”.

The exhibition presents photos, documents and personal collections related to the student squads of Tatarstan, commanders and fighters of different generations. There are the documents of the first commanders of the squads A. Kotvitsky, R. Nabiullin, M. Rakhimzyanov, the Chief of Staff V. Fetyukhin, and others. Komsomol vouchers, banners, and distinctions show labor enthusiasm, traditions and symbolism of the student squads.

The exhibition introduces the different areas of activity of the modern student labor squads in Tatarstan. Objects of the Olympic Sochi, XXVII World Summer Universiade 2013, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the Cosmodrome “Vostochny”, the Nuclear Power Plant “Mirny Atom” in Ozersk, Chelyabinsk Region – these are the objects that modern student construction squads build. The construction of the refinery “Taneco”, the Western Europe-Western China international highway, the restoration of Sviyazhsk and Bolgar, the landscaping for the 1000th anniversary of Kazan are all done with the participation of the new generation.

Annually, more than 10 thousand students of Tatarstan work in the republic, Crimea, Krasnodar Territory, Kamchatka, Yakutia, and the Irkutsk region.

Representatives of the student labor squads of different generations were invited to the opening of the exhibition. During the event, the presentation of the photo-chronicle “Meet us, the third squad!” will take place, reports the press service of the National Museum of the RT.

The origins of student labor groups of Tatarstan are rooted in the traditions established by the generations of students of the 1950s who participated in the development of Kazakhstan lands.

The year of birth of the student construction teams of the republic is considered to be 1963, when three squads of the KCEI (Kazan Civil Engineering Institute) went for construction sites in the Tselinograd region of the Kazakh SSR. In 1966, the first meeting of student construction teams of Tatarstan took place. In 1967, the Tatar Republican headquarters of student construction teams were created. Student squads joined active young men and women who sought to see new lands, to take part in the construction of new cities and enterprises.

The squads of the republic participated in the harvest, worked on the most important construction projects. The routes of the student squads included the impact facilities of the Tyumen and Astrakhan regions, the Mari Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, Uzbekistan and Moldova.
