Institute of Urban Development of Tatarstan: a park at the Salavat Kupere residential complex to be commissioned by autumn

This year, 65 public spaces are planned to be built in Tatarstan under various programs.

In 2022, 65 public spaces are planned to be built in Tatarstan. One of them will be a park at the Salavat Kupere residential complex with a total area of 6 hectares, which is planned to be commissioned by the end of August. This was announced today at a press conference at the Tatar-inform news agency by Naila Zinnatullina, head of the Department of architectural projects of the “Institute of Urban Development of Tatarstan” Foundation.

The new park will be located at the intersection of Nail Yusupov and Alfiya Avzalova streets in Kazan and will comprise three main zones: sports, public and recreational. “There is a water reservoir in the park, which tends to grow shallow. To prevent this, an artificial water supply system will be installed”, - said Naila Zinnatullina.

She also reported that after the public space improvement projects were submitted to the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, part of the projects was returned for revision to eliminate comments on the quality and area of landscaping at future facilities.

In addition, work continues on the implementation of the development strategy of the coastal areas of the Kazanka River. In 2021, a project was created that will chain parks and walking areas along both banks of the river. To date, some of the work has already been completed. Last year, the Uram extreme park was put into operation, coastal zones from the Kazan Kremlin to the Kirovskaya Dam were opened, as well as between the Tatarstan National Library and the Millennium Bridge. “Our main task is the improvement of the right bank of the river and chaining all walking routes of the city. Now the necessary work is underway to preserve the existing unique ecosystem of Kazanka”, - said Alexey Frolov, First Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture, Housing and Utilities of Tatarstan.

Since 2015, 350 public space improvement projects have been carried out in Tatarstan. To date, a number of federal programs are being successfully implemented in the republic. Among them is the reconstruction of treatment facilities in Kazan under the Improvement of the Volga River program.

Despite the current economic situation, the implementation of state programs for the formation of a modern urban environment will be completed on time, Alexey Frolov assured. “The republic has taken the necessary measures for import substitution and reorientation to the Asian market. The main challenges are connected with the import of pumping equipment and its maintenance. However, there are many domestic manufacturers on the Russian market that are able to replace imported equipment in the shortest possible time. Contractors will work according to the established funding, while the cost of production has not changed”, - he noted.
