Kazan athlete Ilyas Khusnutdinov in the Russian team won silver of the 15th World Wushu Championships. Representatives of almost a hundred countries are competing for the main prizes these days in Shanghai, China.

Competitions are conducted in two categories: Taolu (complexes of formal exercises) and Sanda (full-contact fights). In the discipline of Daoshu, Ilyas Khusnutdinov won a silver medal in a tense fight, losing the highest step of the podium only to U Zhaohua from China.

The World Wushu Championships are held every two years. The previous tournament was hosted in Kazan in 2017.
