In 2024, law enforcement agencies ensured the security at 2,500 city events
Today, the Kazan Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs summarized the results of work for 2024. At the meeting, Ilsur Metshin expressed his gratitude to the police officers for their coordinated efforts to ensure security during events, including the BRICS summit. The Mayor emphasized the high level of organizational skills.
One of the main tasks last year was to ensure the safety of Kazan residents and guests during international events, including the Games of the Future, the BRICS Games and the BRICS summit, which brought together about 35 foreign delegations, six international organizations and over 20 leaders of states.
«I can say with confidence that we have coped with all the tasks set. We have deserved the high evaluation of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Now we are trusted by international events of various levels», – Ilsur Metshin said.
Last year, Kazan hosted more than 2,500 events, and the safety of these events was ensured by the employees of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Kazan. During the days of these events, the workload for police officers increased significantly, especially considering the shortage of personnel. Despite this, as the Mayor emphasized, the police staff managed to cope with their tasks.
Ilsur Metshin also pointed out the new challenges that society is facing during a special military operation. He reminded that the city sends humanitarian aid to support the soldiers on a regular basis. To date, more than 1,600 tons of food, specialized equipment, and other essential items have been provided to the military, along with support worth more than 2 billion rubles. The military families receive social, financial, and psychological assistance. This work will continue.
At the end of his speech, the Mayor expressed his gratitude to all those present on behalf of the residents of Kazan, thanking them for their work. He praised their dedication, professionalism, and responsible attitude towards their duties: «I wish you a peaceful, prosperous, and successful year».
The Mayor presented awards to the most outstanding officers – the winners of a professional competition. Awards were given to 60 policemen in 31 categories, including «Best Criminal Investigation Officer» and «Best Investigator».
Damir Sadretdinov, the Tatarstan Minister of Internal Affairs, Nadir Zakirov, the Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Kazan, Oleg Drozdov, the Prosecutor for the city, and Rinat Safin, the Chairman of the Privolzhsky Court of Justice, were also in attendance.
