Ilsur Metshin met with the head of the Republic of Sakha Aisen Nikolaev

<p> The mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin met with the head of the Republic of Sakha Aisen Nikolaev. </p> <p> At the meeting in the Executive Committee, the parties discussed cooperation within the framework of the World organization “United cities and local governments” and the upcoming UCLG World Congress, which will be held in Durban (South Africa) on November 11-15. Aisen Nikolaev is a member of the World Council of UCLG from the Eurasian branch of the organization, which is headed by Ilsur Metshin. It stands to mention that due to Nikolaev’s consistent work Yakutia as a Republic has become a part of "the United cities and local governments". </p> <p> The head of the Republic of Sakha stressed that he is always ready to support the mayor of Kazan in the implementation of various projects of the Eurasian branch UCLG. The participants of the meeting also decided to hold a regional meeting of UCLG and the World Heritage cities in 2020 in Yakutsk. </p> <p> The mayor of Kazan and the head of Yakutia discussed the final stage of the "Digital breakthrough" competition for IT designers and software engineers which was held in the capital of Tatarstan last weekend. The competition gathered more than 3 thousand participants, the Guinness world record for the most massive hackathon was set. </p> <p> The meeting was also attended by the Minister of sports of the Republic of Tatarstan Vladimir Leonov, first deputy head of the Kazan Evgenia Lodvigova, Eurasian branch of UCLG Secretary General Rasikh Sagitov and others. </p>
