<p> This year, the work on the development of parks, squares and the establishment of new public spaces continues in Kazan. The development strategy of Kazanka and establishment of 12 parks on its coastal zone remains one of the most important tasks for the upcoming years. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, urged to engage all concerned citizens, experts and students of architectural universities in the discussion of the project. </p> <p> According to the republican program of the development of public spaces, this summer season it is planned to finish the reconstruction of the Black Lake Park. The works on improvement the territory between the two restored pavilions, utilities renovation, installation of the way finding signage and additional small architectural forms, as well as the fence around the park are underway, reported the head of the Directorate of Parks and Squares Robert Garipov. </p> <p> “The daily operation of parks, playgrounds and sports grounds requires renovation work: somewhere it is necessary to replace a children's swing, and somewhere it is enough to repair or paint some details, - he added. - Park managers check their territories on a daily basis, control the safety the grounds in order to respond quickly and prevent accidents”. </p> <p> This season, it is planned to renew the plaster coating of the fence in the Lyadsky Garden and the central arch in the park “Kryliya Sovetov”, to paint the fence in the Uritsky Park, to renovate slides in “Kaleidoscope” and “Kryliya Sovetov” parks, as well as to repair the benches in the park “Sosnovaya Roshcha”. </p> <p> In addition, this year, a new park will be built at the Salavat Kupere residential complex, now the project is being designed. </p> <p> One of the most important tasks for the upcoming years is the development strategy of the Kazanka River, the implementation of which will allow establishing 12 new parks and embankments. </p> <p> “The work is already underway, - said R. Garipov. - In April and May, meetings were held with activists and residents of the city on the upcoming improvement of the Blue Lake and the Sports Park. Together with architects and district administrations, work is currently underway on the cadastral boundaries of future parks, and design specifications are being developed”. </p> <p> “Every year new challenges and tasks emerge in the program of the development of public spaces. Now we are talking about the development strategy of the Kazanka River, the establishment of 12 parks – Ilsur Metshin, Kazan Mayor, commented. - I call on the Directorate not only to accept the renovated venues into service, but also participate in the discussion, design, actively engaging the residents of the city”. </p>
