<p> The city stage of the All-Russian Golden puck competition named after A.Tarasov started today at the Black lake park in Kazan. The tournament opened with a friendly match, with participation of the mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, first deputy head of the Executive Committee Rustem Gafarov, heads of district administrations and famous athletes, along with pupils of sports schools and street clubs. </p> <p> Before the game, the mayor congratulated the young athletes on the start of the tournament. He noted that this year 1820 people from 91 teams take part in the tournament. “The final of the Golden puck is a long – awaited event for children, their parents, coaches, and all hockey fans, - I.Metshin addressed the participants of the tournament. - Hockey is always associated with winter- it is one of the most popular sports, and we are happy to support the initiatives of young athletes. It's nice to see that every year more and more children go ice skating. To the glory of sport”. </p> <p> This year, according to the results of the district games of the first stage, which were held On January 8-23, 24 teams of the Street sport division and 7 teams of the Sport division qualified the final. According to the results of the final games, the best teams in the three age groups will be determined. These teams will represent Kazan at the Republican Golden puck tournament. The city stage of the tournament will run until February 17. </p> <p> A legend of Kazan hockey, captain of the SC named after Uritsky and former top scorer of the HC Ak Bars, Sergei Stolbun wished the participants of the tournament a fair and beautiful game. </p> <p> After that, the legendary hockey player, together with the mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and the captains of the teams - school № 69 Vyacheslav Garanin and Volna team Denis Zybin, performed a symbolic face-off. </p> <p> In the opening match, the players of the Green and White teams crossed their sticks on the ice. Their opponents were the White team, which included the head of the administration of Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky districts Andrey Lobov, the head of the administration of Sovetsky district Roman Fatkhutdinov and the head of the Old settlement prefecture of Kazan Robert Garipov. </p> <p> The first period ended with a 1-1 score.
