The owners of establishments on the central pedestrian street presented to the Mayor projects of improvement of adjacent territories
The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin got acquainted with the projects of improvement of territories adjacent to catering and trade facilities on Baumana Street. Local entrepreneurs shared their proposals and ideas on the meeting.
The first point of the detour was the yard of the famous family cafe “Skazka” (Fairy tale). Now it is a waste land, which is used as a spontaneous parking lot. The co-founder of the cafe, Mikhail Sharipov, proposes to transform this space by saturating it with various contents. This could be a fashion site where Kazan manufacturers of apparel, accessories and other author's products could present their goods. A museum with interesting facts about cooking can be located here, as well as new catering points.
Ilsur Metshin approved the idea of transforming the yard, but instructed to work in close cooperation with all the owners of neighboring establishments. The concept also needs to be worked out in detail.
Larisa Shulova, co-founder of Parizhsky Dom D'el LLC, made a proposal to transform the section of Kavi Najmi Street at the intersection with Baumana Street into a creative space. According to her, now this part of the street is used as pedestrian, but it is wide enough, it is possible to carry out additional landscaping, add infrastructure for pedestrian comfort, install small architectural forms and a small stage to hold various festivals, for example, jazz and symphonic music.
Another point of the detour was the workshop Kazan Cat, where entrepreneur Vyacheslav Vdovin organized classes for craftsmen in modeling, leather, weaving bracelets and wool painting. Earlier, the entrepreneur appealed to the Mayor of Kazan with a request to help in finding premises for such classes, since there was not enough space for those who wished in the previously existing ones. Such a place became an office in the same house. The entrepreneur showed the updated workshops and thanked for the help. Now the participants of the tour discussed how to improve the territory in order to make another place-a magnet on Baumana Street.
In addition, the head of the city inspected the yards of other establishments. Among them are the Sol bar, Bazzar nightclub, the Bukhta restaurant and others. Entrepreneurs offered to breathe new life into these territories, which are now mostly abandoned and unused, for example to carry out landscaping, increase their capacity, provide infrastructure for events.
The head of the city also visited the yard of houses 22, 24 and 26 on Baumana Street, where landscaping will be carried out according to the republican program Our Yard. “The territory has such disadvantages as the lack of a clear separation of parking spaces and a pedestrian zone. In the central part of the yard there is also a municipal solid waste site, it can be viewed from Baumana Street,”- said architect Karina Nigmatullina.
According to her, in addition to children's areas, there will be areas for quiet recreation with benches and hammocks.
“What attractiveness can I find as a local resident on Baumana Street and Bulak? First of all, I would like to live in a well-maintained yard. Trees and flowers have already been planted. Let's add greenery and some light,”- the Mayor instructed.
Ilsur Metshin also talked to local residents, asking if their wishes were taken into account when drawing up the landscaping project. As one of the residents said, the yard area needs fencing, since numerous tourists get here from Baumana Street. Local residents experience inconveniences even at night. The Mayor instructed to comply with the request of residents.”
