The Mayor of Kazan inspects the progress of road works aon Amirkhana Yeniki and Tovarishcheskaya streets
Road repairs under republican, federal, and city programs are being carried out at 170 locations in Kazan
The first stage of the comprehensive program of the roads repair took place along Amirkhana Yeniki and Tovarishcheskaya streets. A new road surface and sidewalks were laid at a 430-meter section on Amirkhana Yeniki Street. On Tovarishcheskaya Street, sidewalks are being repaired on a site of 450 square meters, as well as a passage connecting Tovarishcheskaya and Vishnevskogo street.
At the request of citizens, a dedicated lane for cyclists will be created. The issue of flooding on Yeniki Street during heavy rainfall will also be resolved. Three additional storm drains will be installed in addition to the five that have already been installed.
“Comprehensive road repairs will help prevent flooding and separate the flow of cyclists from that of pedestrians. These improvements will make driving and walking more convenient for both pedestrians and drivers,”- said Albert Salikhov, the head of the Vakhitovsky city district.
The second stage of the project includes the repair of Tsentralnaya Street, which will connect the Kaluga village with Amirkhana Yeniki and Tovarishcheskaya streets. A new, convenient entrance to the village will be created at the junction of these two streets. Motorists driving along Yeniki Street will be able to directly enter the village from Vishnevskogo Street.
This repair work is being carried out under the Infrastructure for Life national project.
