The Mayor of Kazan and Tatarstan Minister visited the Employment Center of the Moskovsky district after the renovation.
Today, Russia celebrates the Day of Employment workers. On the occasion of the professional holiday, the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and Tatarstan Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Protection Elmira Zaripova visited the renovated Employment Center of the Moskovsky district. The head of the city got acquainted with the work of the center after the reorganization and met with applicants.
Since April 3, the Kazan Employment Center has reorganized its work. In the city, there are 4 territorial administrations. Earlier citizens could apply to them at their place of residence, while now they have the opportunity to receive support at any convenient office.
The two-storey building on Gagarina Street with an area of 713.5 sq.m was built in 1964. Timur Mullin, Director of the Employment Center, told the Mayor that it was transferred to the Employment Center of the Moskovsky district in 2008. In 2020, the design project of the interior and exterior in the corporate style “Work of Russia” was approved. After the overhaul, the center was provided with new equipment and furniture.
Presently, the Employment Center of the Moskovsky district provides support to various categories of citizens. These are parents with many children, people with disabilities, pensioners and people of pre-retirement age, as well as teenagers. “The summer employment program in Kazan allows covering about 10% of under age,”- the Minister of Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the republic of Tatarstan added.
Working with visitors is a multi–stage process that includes the selection of vacancies, calling employers and issuing documents. Applicants can study the available vacancies in the database on computers installed in the reception. Ilsur Metshin talked with Ilnar Shaidullin, who used this option. He used to work as a mechanic, but left his former place because of low wages. Now he wants to get a job as a driver. “And what salary would suit you?”- the Mayor asked. “Fifty thousand,”- Ilnar Shaidullin replied. “There are definitely vacancies for drivers with such a salary. At Gorvodzelenkhoz, a municipal improvement enterprise, the salary is even more in winter,”- the head of the city said.
Employment assistance is not the only service that is provided in employment centers. Applicants can receive vocational training, assistance in social adaptation or psychological counseling, as well as undergo career guidance. In addition, various master classes for applicants are held here. For example, during the visit of Ilsur Metshin and Elmira Zaripova, residents who were looking for work were trained to draw up a CV.
To date, 2,801 people were registered as unemployed in the capital of Tatarstan, and the unemployment rate decreased from 0.49% to 0.43%. At the same time, the number of vacant jobs was 16,405.
“At one time, our unemployment has been higher than 5% and 6%. But now there are so many very diverse offers on the labor market. Today, mid-level health personnel are in demand, workers are needed at construction sites and factories,”- the Mayor noted. “I want to thank colleagues and, most importantly, employers, because the economy of our capital, the republic and the country depends on them. The Kazan labor market has survived despite the pandemic and any crises. This is the most important result,”- Ilsur Metshin summed up.
