The installation of IP intercom systems, the preparation of shelters, and work with youth: civil protection measures are being strengthened in Kazan
The Mayor of the city Ilsur Metshin held a meeting of the Kazan Anti-Terrorism Commission at the Executive Committee. The Mayor noted that the issue of safety of citizens during threats related to unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) attacks is crucial, therefore work is being done daily in this area.
«Our main task in case of emergency situations is to ensure maximum safety of Kazan residents and inform them in advance about ways and means of protection,» - Ilsur Metshin said.
Currently, 317 protective facilities, including about 6,000 basements of residential apartment buildings and 35 parking lots, have been checked. Sergey Chankin, the head of the Kazan Civil Protection Department, reported this to the commission.
As many as 450 apartment buildings have been connected to a system that alerts residents about threats through intercom systems.
To date, there are approximately 6,000 apartment buildings in Kazan, of which more than 2,000 are equipped with outdated intercom systems.
Ilsur Metshin instructed to develop a plan for the transition to IP-based intercom systems in collaboration with telecommunications providers, and then to monitor compliance with the schedule with the prosecutor's office.
During the meeting, the Mayor of Kazan urged all managers and relevant parties to enhance control measures at their respective enterprises.
