Ilsur Metshin inspects the landscaping of the park on Karbysheva Street

150 trees and 6,000 flowers and shrubs were planted there, and a playground and sports ground were constructed

The landscaping of the park for the 100th anniversary of the construction industry of the republic of Tatarstan in Kazan is being completed. This year, sidewalks have been laid, playground and sports grounds were built, outdoor furniture have been installed, as well as lighting, video surveillance cameras, and sound alarms for visually impaired citizens have been connected. The area has been decorated with over 5,000 flowers and 1,000 shrubs. In the future, there will be an art installation dedicated to the construction workers. Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin got acquainted with the progress of work.

The square of the 100th anniversary of the construction industry of the republic of Tatarstan is located on Karbysheva Street. Before the start of landscaping, the territory was in a poor condition. Work on the first part with an area of 0.7 hectares was completed last year. A reservoir was cleaned here to install a multi-jet fountain, an observation deck was built, video surveillance and musical system were connected. Work on the second part with an area of 1.8 hectares began this year.

«This is another landscaping project that the residents have been waiting for. We were happy to be able to complete the work. There are still some final touches to be done. We have fixed the fountain and put in order the small architectural structures and playgrounds. We finished all the work during the summer. The winter season is coming, and everything here is designed for year-round recreation for residents – you can simply walk or play sports», – said the Mayor.

A walking path, a playground and a workout area were built in the park with an area of 1,900 square meters. The coating is made in the same color scheme with the paving stones, which were laid in the neighboring yard on Karbysheva Street.

A play ground is equipped with a street musical instrument, a swing, rocking chairs, a game excavator and a sandbox, as well as a jumping platform, bars for a workout.

«We focused on a green area», – Ruzal Farkhullin said. A lawn was sown in the park on an area of 11,100 square meters and an automatic irrigation system was connected. More than 1200 bushes of pemphigus, spirea and 5,000 plants and flower beds were planted. The territory was also decorated with almost 150 trees.

The park is illuminated by 33 light points, and for safety, 18 cameras and an equal number of sound warning devices were installed. In addition, a toilet module was installed for the BRICS summit in the square.

For reference, this year, 18 public spaces in Kazan will be landscaped as part of preparations for the Games and the BRICS summit, under the Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment project.
