Ilsur Metshin takes part in shipping the second humanitarian aid convoy from Kazan to Lisichansk

The City Duma deputies handed over goods worth more than 7 million rubles to the residents of the city supported by the republic.

The second humanitarian aid convoy with a volume of 100 tons was shipped today from Kazan to Lisichansk. Deputies of the City Duma and their enterprises made a significant contribution to the collection of the cargo. They provided goods worth more than 7 million rubles. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, took part in shipping humanitarian aid from the City Hall. He said that the next cargo is planned to be shipped in early December.

Two hundred enterprises, including pharmaceutical and trading companies, schools, property management companies and the association of transport industry enterprises, as well as more than 600 citizens of Kazan joined the collection of a new batch of goods. About 30 tons of food and 70 tons of non-food products were loaded into five trucks. Residents of Lisichansk will receive canned food, baby food, groceries, drinking water and sweets, as well as warm clothes, equipment, household chemicals – such as toothpastes and washing gel, medicines, building materials, 150 generators and 16 mobile ovens.

“We are in direct contact with colleagues, find out their needs and send all the necessary goods. At the request of the residents of Lisichansk, who support the life support of the municipal economy, generators and mobile stoves were purchased, they were also loaded into trucks,”- I. Metshin said. He thanked the citizens and entrepreneurs who actively participate in the collection of humanitarian aid: “We have no problems with collecting. More and more residents are getting involved in this activity.”

After the 18th session of the City Duma, its deputies accompanied the Mayor in shipping the humanitarian convoy from the City Hall. During the meeting, deputies watched a video showing the current state of Lisichansk and how much it needs to be restored. “Words are empty to understand the significance of the support that we provide to Lisichansk and its residents. I thank the deputies and colleagues who participate in the collection of humanitarian aid. Everyone joined in a single impulse, regardless of parties and factions. We are in touch with colleagues, so we will be together in this important work,”- Ilsur Metshin said and urged concerned residents to help those in need.

According to the deputy head of the Executive Committee of Kazan, Ildar Shakirov, convoy is shipped to the city supported by Tatarstan once every two weeks. In less than a month, 17 collection points for humanitarian aid have been operating, 200 tons of food, household chemicals, and building materials have been collected.
