<p> Today, the final session of the Kazan City Duma of the third convocation was held at the City Hall. The main outcome of Duma over the past five years were announced by the Mayor of Kazan, Chairman of the City Duma Ilsur Metshin. He noted that the deputies managed to achieve results in all areas of social and economic development, and also outlined the main directions of the upcoming work. </p> <p> <b>“Kazan has become the flagship in terms of the pace and quality of housing renovation and the city of a healthy lifestyle”</b> </p> <p> In recent years, Kazan has made a big breakthrough in construction and has become a flagship among Russian cities in terms of the pace and quality of housing renovation, the Mayor said. “Over five years, 39 kindergartens and 13 schools have been built in our city, 85 kindergartens and 57 schools have been renovated, and more than 1.5 thousand courtyards have been repaired”, - he reminded. </p> <p> Great results were achieved in the improvement of public spaces. </p> <p> Kazan has become a city of high-tech medicine and a healthy lifestyle. Medical facilities of European level were opened in the city, more than 80 hospitals and clinics have been repaired, over a hundred sports grounds and 15 sports venues have been built, I. Metshin reminded. </p> <p> In Kazan, great attention is paid to education, self-realization of young people and the organization of full-fledged leisure, he added. </p> <p> “Thanks to the support of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, almost all the city's cultural centers have been completely renovated for the first time in their history”, - I.Metshin noted. </p> <p> “We have also overhauled almost all teen clubs, and unprecedented work is being done on the renovation of children’s camps”, – the Mayor said. </p> <p> <b>Thanks to the deputies we managed to develop a set of assistance measures for citizens and support the municipal economy during the pandemic</b> </p> <p> The capital of Tatarstan hosted major international events at a high level, including the FIFA World Cup and FINA Championships, as well as the Worldskills, the Mayor reminded. </p> <p> One of the most important achievements was the awarding of the title “City of Labor Valor” to the capital of Tatarstan. “By decree of the Russian President, Kazan was awarded this honorary title for an exceptional labor feat during the Great Patriotic War”, -the Mayor said. </p> <p> During the coronavirus pandemic, the deputies and the Executive Committee kept the issue of supporting entrepreneurship in the city under constant control. According to I. Metshin, it allowed to develop a set of assistance measures for the supporting and development of the municipal economy. </p> <p> <b>The outcome of Duma: Strategy-2030, the General plan of the city and the social budgeting</b> </p> <p> “One of the crucial issues for the deputies was the development and implementation of a strategy for the socio-economic development of Kazan until 2030, aimed at achieving the main goal: to make Kazan the most comfortable city in Russia”, - I.Metshin said. </p> <p> The next significant step for the city was the approval of local regulations for urban planning and the General plan. </p> <p> The deputies also focused on the formation, adoption of the budget of Kazan and control of its implementation, the Mayor added. </p> <p> <b>“In the Duma, all issues were considered with on-site analysis of the problem”</b> </p> <p> During the convocation, the deputies focused on direct work with electors”- the Mayor noted. According to him, such forms of work as deputy raids, permanent on-site deputy control, “round tables” and meetings of deputies with representatives of ministries and departments of the republic on specific urban issues have proved their effectiveness. </p> <p> “In the Duma, all issues were considered with on-site analysis of the problem, in labor teams, at specific facilities”, - I.Metshin emphasized. </p> <p> <b>“Our program is based on concern for people and creating a comfortable environment for life”</b> </p> <p> “The election of Tatarstan President and Kazan City Duma deputies, which will be held on September 13 – is the beginning of a new stage in the development of our city. It will determine the future of Kazan, the improvement of the living standards of citizens, – the Mayor addressed the participants of the session. – Our task is to transfer all the experience of the Duma to the new deputies, and not only positive and effective forms of work, but also the issues and problems that need to be solved”. </p> <p> The high level of development of Kazan generates a high expectation of citizens, the head of the capital of Tatarstan noted. “We enter the current elections to the Kazan city Duma, regardless of party affiliation, with a new action program, - he said. - It is based on concern for people, creating a comfortable environment for life, creating opportunities and conditions for self-realization”. </p> <p> “This convocation left a bright trace in the life of the city. Fateful decisions were made, a real system of municipal bodies was created, which fully allows you to solve local issues, - the Mayor addressed the deputies. – Our achievements are the common merit and work of all institutions and industrial enterprises, and, of course, the respected citizens of Kazan”. </p>
