The Mayor of the capital of Tatarstan inspected the preparation of hotels and other facilities for international events
Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin inspected the readiness of city facilities to receive participants of the upcoming BRICS Games and the BRICS Summit – hotels, construction sites and landscaping of the Bulak Bayou.
Earlier, an operational committee was established in the capital of Tatarstan to prepare for events under the auspices of BRICS, it is personally headed by Ilsur Metshin. Such inspections are conducted regularly on the eve of large-scale international events.
The first site of the inspection was the Kristall Hotel at 8 Rustem Yakhin Street. At the facility, employees are preparing an additional five suites and one presidential room for the summit, which required combining three standard rooms. The presidential suite will have a kitchen with a table for 10-12 people, a bathroom, a guest room, an office and a bedroom.
In addition, Kristall is undergoing maintenance works in 96 rooms. The work at the hotel is scheduled to be completed by April 30.
“Today, 20 hotels are being renovated for the BRICS Games and the BRICS Summit, at which we expect more than 25 delegations with heads of state. We appreciate that the hoteliers have agreed to make presidential suits. They say they are glad to operate at such international events that are needed to start the renovation. But after that, they also expect a different number of guests, and pricing, and revenue,”- Ilsur Metshin said.
The Ramada Hotel will accommodate guests at the BRICS Games. Four rooms will be renovated for the international event, of which the builders redesign one presidential room with an area of about 156 sq. m.
“We want to thanks all the hoteliers. We started preparing for the Universiade with them, the FINA Championships, FIFA World Cup, World Skills, and Games of the Future were held. The new challenge is BRICS. We hope that everything will be held at the highest level,”- the Mayor noted.
Fifty-one accommodation facilities will be prepared for the participants of the BRICS Summit. Among them are 46 hotels of the 5, 4, 3 and 2 star categories, as well as various accommodation facilities such as the Universiade Village, hostels, etc. To date, about 6,500 rooms have been booked.
Guests and participants of the upcoming BRICS Games are planned to be accommodated in 10 hotels in Kazan. Rooms will be prepared for the judges at the Korston Club Hotel, the Grand Hotel, the IT Park and the Regatta Hotel. Media representatives will be accommodated in the Ibis, Regina, Nogai, Kosmos and Davydov hotels.
“By the BRICS Summit, we will overhaul Bulak, where 56 floating fountains and thousands of new lamps will be installed, - the Mayor noted. - We continue to improve. We move on, hoteliers as well, and as a result, everyone gets a clean, well-maintained and renovated Kazan by the BRICS.”
A residential complex with a total area of 12,163 square meters is being built on Chernyshevsky Street. According to the plan, it provides an underground parking lot and offices. The residential complex will consist of three houses.
“International events cause inconvenience to residents, but the legacy remains with us forever. The development of the hospitality industry is inevitable, such as the hotel staff, cafes and taxis, landscaping is moving forward, this applies to all sectors of life. There is a lot of work and preparation ahead of these events, but after them, the city will be renovated and landscaped with new opportunities for Kazan residents," - Ilsur Metshin added.
