<p> Today, the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin personally conducted a tour for Kazan bloggers and journalists at the factory of the Department of food and social nutrition. Every day food is prepared here for all Kazan schools. “Any complain and criticism helps us in our work. We should jointly bring order in every school”, - he said to the guests, among them were many parents of schoolchildren. </p> <p> “One of the main branches of the municipal economy is school nutrition and health protection. Since we established the Department in 2006, our motto has not changed: children can study differently, dress differently, play sports, but at least at school they should eat equally well”, - Ilsur Metshin emphasized. </p> <p> The Department of food and social nutrition serves not only schools and kindergartens, but also nine hospitals of the republic and some enterprises. </p> <p> Bloggers and journalists were acquainted with the loading area, warehouses, as well as some workshops. Director General of the Department of food and social nutrition Rima Mukhamedshina said that thanks to the WorldSkills 2019 in Kazan, two industrial pans, six combi steamers and a dishwasher line were installed in the food preparation room. </p> <p> 80 school canteens received additionally 550 items of inventory and equipment, and 76 schools purchased new equipment. All Kazan school canteens received new sets of dishes and tableware. New uniform was purchased for employees of all canteens. </p> <p> During the press tour, special attention was paid to the laboratory equipped with the most modern equipment. It provides bacteriological control of imported products to the plant. </p> <p> The participants of the tour were very interested in the cooking line with dishes from the school menu. “This is a showroom, this is regular school meal for children”, - Ilsur Metshin added. The participants of the tour could try first and second courses, salads, drinks and pastries. </p> <p> “Of course, there are issues that need to be solved –the Mayor said and reminded how the issue with the quality of cutlets in city schools was resolved. – We responded in time, developed food quality control. We found flaws in the recipe. However, we need feedback, we need your help, and dialogue is important in this important big work. Everything we do should work for decades. This is our common task and responsibility. After all, at least 60% of the daily diet of children should get a healthy food”. </p> <p> During the press tour, almost every participant of the meeting received questions from Instagram followers. Among the most frequent – how to ensure a common quality of school meals. </p> <p> Rima Mukhamedshina reminded that all schools have parental control books for a feedback. The Mayor of Kazan made a proposal to organize public control from parent committees in canteens. I.Metshin instructed the head of the Department of education to coordinate this possibility with the Russian Agency for Health and Consumer Rights and school directors. </p>
