<p> Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, visited the Neighbors Day – a holiday organized on the occasion of the overhaul completion at the courtyard of houses 13, 15 and 17 on Khimikov street. This is the largest public space at the Zhilploshchadka residential area. </p> <p> “I remember our first visits here. Zhilploshchadka is literally a descent area. Today we see that the yard here is the same as any other yard in the downtown of Kazan. This was our task. We are happy that with the help of concerned enterprises and talented students, Kazan is turning into a well – maintained, beautiful, well-groomed capital”, - Ilsur Metshin said, viewing the renovated public space. </p> <p> The project of renovation of the yard was developed by the design team of KSACU students and teachers. Sergei Mironov, head of the administration of Kirovsky and Moskovsky districts, noted that this yard is a true attraction point for citizens not only of nearby houses, but also for neighboring villages. Not less than three thousand citizens gather here for major events. </p> <p> The developer of the project, senior teacher of the department of urban planning of the University Maria Latypova, in turn, noted that citizens are actively involved in the process of yard renovation. “The citizens were very open, interested in cooperation, and actively helped. I must say that they have been waiting for the renovation of the yard for a long time”, - she told the Mayor. </p> <p> During the implementation of the project in 2019-2020, the road surface was renovated, the public space was completely landscaped, a multifunctional scene was built, a sports ground, a universal field, a children's zone, pergolas (canopies with plants), recreation areas, and small architectural elements were installed. </p> <p> Part of the work on the improvement and installation of small architectural elements was undertaken by PJSC Tatkhimfarmpreparaty and Housing and communal services of the Moskovsky district. “We would like to express our thanks for your concern for the citizens. This is a true case of social responsibility of business, when managers are concerned with their heart and soul both for production and for the conditions in which people come back from work. The local citizens have an opportunity to see their beautiful Zhilploshchadka residential area!” - said the Mayor, addressing the heads of enterprises. </p> <p> After that, the Mayor of Kazan inspected the progress of overhaul on Khimikov street 15. The five-storey eight-entrance brick house built in 1968 was included into the program of overhaul in 2020. </p> <p> The roof, electrics, entrances and façade will be repaired there. According to Oleg Kalimov, director of the Housing and communal services of the Moskovsky district company, the work started about a month ago, and about half of the total work has been completed to date. </p>
