Ilsur Metshin: “The Park at the Salavat Kupere will bring together all the best that we have implemented in Kazan”

The Mayor of the city got acquainted with the concept of a new public space, which will be located on an area of 6 ha.

This year, the development of a park will begin at the Salavat Kupere residential area, which is being anxiously awaited by local residents. Residents of the district will obtain a new place for walks, bright holidays and active recreation. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, got acquainted with the concept of the future park today. “The project reminds the Lebyazhye Park, Ak Checheklar Boulevard and the Black Lake. This park will bring together all the best that we have implemented in Kazan under the program of development of public spaces,”- the head of the city said.

The architectural bureau ZARF, which also developed the project of the Festivalny Boulevard on Dekabristov Street, is developing the concept of the park. The park will consist of three main zones, said architect Grigory Davletshin. “The first zone can be called the contemplation zone. This is an area near the lake, designed for relaxation and walking”, - the architect explained.

The second zone is the front one: this location will become a place for activities and fests.

The third zone is an area for active recreation. A multifunctional playground will be built here, and sheds and benches will be installed nearby, where parents will be able to watch the children playing. For older children, a multifunctional sports ground will be equipped. There will also be an extreme-zone with a pump track.

The Mayor appreciated the presented concept: “The architects did a good job. When you created the Festivalny Boulevard, on site it looked even much better, than on the layout. I am sure that it will be the same here”.

The work will begin immediately after the results of the tender procedures determine the contractor. It is planned to start with an active recreation area, which is being anxiously awaited by the residents.

“We will continue to take into account the opinion of the residents and make changes in the project if necessary, - said I.Metshin. - We hope that we will be able to implement the first stage as a gift for the new school year. In general, great challenges lie ahead, making the work more interesting for the contractor”.
