The Mayor of Kazan noted that this New Year is better to celebrate at home.
The Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin called on tourists to abstain from traveling to other cities and celebrate the New Year at home. He noted that the epidemiological situation remains tense worldwide. In such conditions, it is better to avoid travelling, the head of the city emphasized today at the Theme show on the Efir TV channel.
Answering the question of the host, whether Kazan is waiting for tourists this winter, the Mayor noted: “We see what is happening in the world, the situation has not become better. Lockdown was announced by the majority of European countries. They choose health of people, put it above the economy, and that's right”. He also added that Kazan is an open city, but all events are focused initially on its citizens.
Despite all challenges, Kazan is ready to welcome the New Year: this week, festive illumination shines in the city, almost all public places are decorated- parks, squares, embankments. Sixty-five New Year’s sites were prepared in the city for residents, the Mayor reminded. During the New Year's holidays, about 130 open air events will be held for Kazan residents.
“There is everything for spending time in the fresh air. I recommend a healthy lifestyle, recreation, with families and children. We did everything for this, tried very hard to create a special mood”, - I.Metshin said.
