This week, hotels in Kazan are completing renovation prior the BRICS summit
By September 15, renovation work is planned to be completed at nine hotels in Kazan prior the BRICS summit. The repairs include updating rooms, installing new furniture, and repairing utilities. The renovation is carried out at 22 hotels, and work has been completed in 13 of them. This information was reported to Mayor Ilsur Metshin by the Director of the Tourism Development Committee, Daria Sannikova. Currently, city and republic commissions inspect the completed work.
About 20 thousand participants will take part in the BRICS summit. Out of the 36 invited leaders from foreign countries, 18 have confirmed their participation.
«The Kazan hotel industry is actively preparing for the event. Twenty-two different hotels have begun updating their facilities for the BRICS summit, - said Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan. - After the summit the renovated infrastructure will serve for next guests, enhancing the opportunities for our tourism sector. At the end of last year, we surpassed the 4 million tourist mark for the first time. And according to the first half-year results, 2.1 million people have already visited Kazan, an increase of 22% compared to the same period last year.»
The four-star Hayal Hotel was opened in 2009 and today its load is 70-80%. There are 78 different types of rooms available for guests: singles, doubles, suites, and a presidential suite. The hotel's restaurant offers a halal menu and dishes from various national cuisines.
For reference, the BRICS summit will take place in Kazan on October 22-24.
