Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin congratulated Vladimir Putin on his victory at a staff meeting: “This confirms the great trust in our leader, who has united the Russian people. We will wait for the final data from the Central Election Commission.”

During the election days, Kazan residents were able to visit the traditional fair with products at low prices, children's workshops, games and relay races, as well as to use public transport for free. According to the head of the city, all this created a festive atmosphere in Kazan. “The situation at the polling stations was calm and working, but at the same time festive,”- he added.

There were 466 polling stations, of which 31 were in places of temporary residence of citizens. All security measures were observed during the election days.
