Ilsur Metshin on the Games of the Future: “The first Olympic Games took place in Athens, while Kazan will open a new page in its history”

The Mayor of Kazan took part in a press conference at Baikonur dedicated to the launch of the trophy of the Games of the Future into space

Kazan is ready to host the Games of the Future. This was announced by the Mayor of the capital of the republic of Tatarstan Ilsur Metshin at a press conference at the Baikonur cosmodrome.

“The Games of the Future will become a special golden page in the history of Kazan and Russia. For the first time we will welcome participant from over 100 countries, Kazan is ready for this. We held test competitions. They have been viewed on the Internet by over 180 million people. Everything is there to host the first Games of the Future. It is both a great honor and a great challenge for us,”- Ilsur Metshin said.

The Mayor thanked the organizers of the competition for their confidence.

“Kazan has a great experience in hosting international sports competitions. We have a well–organized team, a large team of volunteers who are able to meet guests and organize an event,”- the head of the city noted.

Ilsur Metshin also invited guests to visit Kazan during the days of the Games of the Future.

“Taking this opportunity, I want to invite everyone to Kazan, we are waiting for guests and hope that, just as the first Olympic Games were held in Athens, Kazan will open a new page in its thousand–year history,”- he concluded.
