Ilsur Metshin on the Voznesensky tract: “This will be the fifth departing highway, which is crucial for the city”

The first section of 4 km length will decongest the Mamadyshsky tract and become part of the departing road to the M7 highway.

The construction of the first stage of the Voznesensky tract with a 4 km length has begun in Kazan: a road with a width of 13-17 meters, three lanes in each direction, is being built on the section from Gvardeyskaya Street to Pobedy Avenue. Journalists together with the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin got acquainted with more details about the work during a press tour to the site.

90 special vehicles and 250 people are involved in the construction of the first stage on a daily basis

The construction of the Voznesensky tract was envisaged in the General Plan of 1969, the Mayor noted. “Our predecessors foresaw more than half a century ago that ratio of vehicles in Kazan would reach very high rates. When the road will be commissioned, we will already have about half a million vehicles, so we really need this road”, - he said.

The length of the first stage of construction of the Voznesensky tract from Gvardeyskaya Street to Pobedy Avenue will be 3.8 km, more than 6 km lay along intra-block and additional roads, the head of the city added. The project provides for the development of bike paths, storm water drainage and sidewalks.

The first stage of the Voznesensky tract, for the construction of which 12 billion rubles will be allocated, will include interchanges on Gvardeyskaya Street and on Pobedy Avenue, three underground pedestrian crossings and one junction through the railway, deputy head of the Executive Committee Igor Kulyazhev said.

Now, 90 vehicles and 250 people are involved in the work on the daily basis. “Mainly, preparatory work is currently underway. A bypass road is being built on Gvardeyskaya Street so that it is possible to start building a tunnel, work is also underway on the construction of underground pedestrian crossings”, - I.Kulyazhev explained to journalists.

In addition, a large amount of work is being carried out on the removal utilities and the reconstruction of networks, he added.

Voznesensky tract will become a new growth point in this part of the city

The first stage of the Voznesensky tract is part of a large project of the construction of a departing highway from Kazan. It will start from the Ametyevskaya highway and end at the M7 Volga federal highway.

It is planned to complete the construction of the departing highway at the second stage of the road construction-from Pobedy Avenue to the M7 Volga highway, the length of which will be 7.9 km. According to I.Kulyazhev, design work is currently underway.

“In Kazan, this will be the fifth departing highway, which is urgently needed taking into account the high ratio of vehicles in the city. This is our next big goal after the Kazan Ring Road”, - I.Metshin added.

Voznesensky tract will be the starting point for the development of a large territory in the area of Adel Kutuya, Gvardeyskaya and Pobedy Avenue streets. “We see that our new Rodina district is located nearby, where we are implementing the next important project for the city: the relocation of industrial enterprises outside of Kazan. The Voznesensky tract will allow implementing big plans in housing construction – the head of the city said. – The planning project provides not only for residential complexes, but also for the entire social infrastructure, including kindergartens, schools, parks and squares”.

It is planned to complete the construction of the first stage of the Voznesensky tract in 2023.
