Ilsur Metshin on the BRICS summit: “Thirty-three states have already announced their intention to participate in it”

<p> The preparation of city infrastructure and accommodation facilities for the BRICS summit in October 2024 has begun in Kazan. 33 States have already expressed their desire to participate in the international event. This was announced by the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin at the first meeting of the headquarters for the preparation for the summit in the Executive Committee. The headquarters is planned to take place on a regular basis. </p> <p> “Preparations for the BRICS summit, which will be held in Kazan in 2024, are moving to the phase of direct implementation of the plans. The work is important and we have a necessary experience. We are responsible is protocol routes, accommodation facilities and organization of security for all events together with colleagues from republican and federal authorities. The first funding has already been received by the decree of the Government of Tatarstan, signed by the Prime Minister of the Republic Alexey Pesoshin”- the Mayor said. The first allocation from the republic's budget for the preparation of city infrastructure is 6, 531,000,000 rubles. In total, it is planned to allocate 9 billion 257 million rubles. </p> <p> Ilsur Metshin noted that despite the extensive experience of holding international events, preparations for the BRICS summit will be special. This is primarily due to the scale of the event and the extensive list of participating countries. </p> <p> “There is an official business part, as well as a cultural one. We have to prepare the city infrastructure and accommodation facilities. In addition, we should monitor the implementation of the plan according to the schedule – we will also visit the facilities and inspect the work on sites”, - Ilsur Metshin stressed. </p>
