Ilsur Metshin on the Our Yard program: “This year, improvements will affect the areas of 408 residential buildings that have not been renovated for decades”

2.3 billion rubles will be allocated for the improvement of yards.

In Kazan, 2.3 billion rubles were allocated for the implementation of the Our Yard presidential program this year. “This year, the improvements will affect the yard areas of 408 residential buildings that have not been renovated for decades. Previously, we could make only asphalt repair works, now we carry out a full range of works: asphalt repair and enlargement of parking, lighting and playgrounds – everything that brings the quality of the living environment to a better level”, - Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of the capital of Tatarstan, said at the Business Monday at the Executive Committee of the city.

Last year, 2 billion 700 million rubles were allocated for the improvement of Kazan yards. Under the Our Yard program, in 2020, the yards of 460 apartment buildings were improved, new asphalt roads with an area of more than 700 thousand sq.m, 2.2 thousand energy-efficient lamps, about 2.5 thousand small architectural forms, children's and sports equipment were installed, said Igor Kulyazhev, Deputy head of the Executive Committee – chair of the Land Improvement Committee.

In 2021, 2 billion rubles will be allocated for asphalt concrete works in the yards. In total, it is planned to improve 520 thousand sq. m. of asphalt pavement. Another 165 million rubles were allocated for outdoor lighting and small architectural forms.

As Ilsur Metshin noted, along with the program, the tradition of discussing improvement projects with residents appeared. “The meetings are usually held amicably, sometimes the residents are hotly discussing the project: someone needs more playgrounds for children, someone needs parking or landscaping. Once again, I ask the heads of administrations to take into account every comment of the residents. Taking into account the view of majority, of course”, - the Mayor added.
