Ilsur Metshin on the City Day: “This is a holiday in honor for our residents”

<p> This year, a rich festive program will be prepared for Kazan residents on the Day of the republic of Tatarstan and the City Day. Several festivals, equestrian events and musical fireworks will be held for residents. The headliners of the concerts will be Klava Koka, Filius Kagirov, Vanya Dmitrienko and the Uma2rman band. Guzel Sagitova, Deputy Head of the Executive Committee of Kazan, reported about the festive program at the Business Monday meeting. </p> <p> The municipality will have to perform considerable efforts and responsibility organizing such festive events, said the Mayor of the city Ilsur Metshin. “This holiday is a tribute of gratitude to the hardworking Kazan residents, who help the city getting better and gaining fame not only in Russia, but also abroad. This is a holiday in honor for our residents”, - Ilsur Metshin noted. </p> <p> The City Day will begin with the ceremonial meeting at the Kazan City Hall, where the awarding of Honorary Citizens of Kazan will take place. After that, a monument to the outstanding Tatar performer Rashid Vagapov will be unveiled in the square near the Tatar State Philharmonic. Tatar pop artists, the winners of the Vagapov’s Festival, will perform during the opening ceremony. </p> <p> <b>TatFuture and Tat Cult festivals at new sites</b> </p> <p> Every year on the Day of the republic of Tatarstan and the City Day, along with the traditional events, new activities take place for any taste and interest, the Mayor noted. This year, the Millennium Park has been added to the traditional festive sites – the TatFuture IT Culture Festival will be held here from 11:00 to 22:00 and the performance of Klava Koka. </p> <p> Another innovation of this year is the Tat Cult festival at the National Library of the republic of Tatarstan. Cultural trends, history and contemporary art will be presented here, as well as the performance of Yummy music label. The festival will start at 13:00. </p> <p> <b>“Milli kiem”, a flash mob of musicians and an equestrian fest</b> </p> <p> The Uram Extreme Park will host a music festival from 12:00 to 22:00. </p> <p> At 13:30, the traditional gala concert of the Beznan Zaman festival will begin on the square near the Kamal Theater. At the same time, a flash mob of the participants of the “Uynagyz, garmunnar” republican contest will take place. “Musicians and artists will pass through the central streets of the city to the 1 Maya square, performing folk songs to the accompaniment of accordion and kurai”, - G.Sagitova said. </p> <p> At 14:00, the festival of national costume “Milli Kiem” will begin on the embankment of Kaban Lake. At the same time in the Old Tatar Settlement on Kayuma Nasyri Street, a festival of folk song and dance art under the auspices of UNESCO “Kazan solgese” will take place. </p> <p> At 15:00, the equestrian festival will start at the Kazan hippodrome. Its program includes horse races, a concert and a traditional lottery. </p> <p> The open-air opera festival “Kazan Autumn” will be held on the square in front of the Palace of Farmers. Here, under the baton of Maestro Alexander Sladkovsky, Honored Artist of Russia Aida Garifullina will perform. The festival will start at 20:00. </p> <p> <b>Uma2rman performance and fireworks to the music </b> </p> <p> A big festive concert will take place at the Kazan Family Center at 16:30. The headliners will be Filius Kagirov, the Uma2rman group and a young singer Vanya Dmitrienko. </p> <p> At 22:00, the night sky over the Kazanka water area will be illuminated with a festive salute. Handicrafts and souvenirs shops will be organized at the festive sites. </p>
