The Mayor of Kazan inspected the construction of a new emergency and diagnostic department with a unique hybrid room
A new emergency and diagnostic department is being built at the central city hospital-18 under the national project “Long and Active Life” in Kazan.
Currently, the city hospital -18 serves more than 120 thousand residents of the city. It includes an outpatient clinic, a hospital, a maternity welfare center, and a trauma center.
“Previously, this hospital at the Radiopribor plant was considered one of the best and best-equipped. We will work hard to regain its former glory. A wonderful team of professionals works here today, serving a large number of patients,”- said Ilsur Metshin.
The area of the new emergency and diagnostic department covers 4,300 square meters.
On the ground floor, there will be an emergency and a diagnostic center where patients can be admitted for urgent, emergency, and planned care. The emergency department will be able to accommodate up to 240 patients in a single shift. The department will be equipped with a modern medical equipment, including computed tomography (CT), X-rays, flexible gastrointestinal endoscopy, ultrasound machines, and a new multi-purpose laboratory.
The second floor will house two intensive care units with 24 beds. The third floor will see a significant expansion of the operating capacity of the hospital, with four additional operating rooms added to the existing two, bringing the total number to six. This includes two surgical suites, an ENT unit, and a unique hybrid room.
The basement will house modern classrooms and lecture halls equipped with multimedia facilities for doctors and students. There will also be a cloakroom and life support services for the admissions and diagnostic departments.
Work is scheduled to complete in 2026.
