Five public spaces are planned to be improved in Kazan this year. Work is underway at the Black lake park, squares near the Said-Galiev cultural center and on Avangardnaya street, at the square in front of the Railway workers ' community center in Yudino. The major project is the second stage of reconstruction of the embankment of the Lower Kaban Lake.

The renovation and creation of public spaces is being carried out in the most remote areas from the downtown, Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin said today at a meeting of the headquarters for combating the spread of coronavirus infection. “We create a new level of comfort for the citizens of these areas”, - the head of the city emphasized.

This year, the third stage of improvement of one of the oldest parks in the city – the Black lake will start in Kazan. This park owns the status of a cultural heritage site and cultural monument of regional significance.

At the same time with the reconstruction of the cultural centers, the improvement of the surrounding squares is underway. This year, the renovated public spaces will appear at two cultural centers, reconstructed under the Tatarstan President program on renovation of the cultural centers: squares near the Said-Galiev cultural center and the square in front of the railway station.

The embankment of the Kaban Lake will become more colorful after the second stage of reconstruction

One of the major projects is the reconstruction of the embankment of the Lower Kaban Lake. The work was divided into several stages, Igor Kulyazhev reminded. This year, the second stage of improvement of the embankment continued. The total length of the reconstructed territory is almost 2 km.

“During the improvement of the Kaban embankment we have received many proposals from citizens of Kazan, interesting comments and ideas. Together with the concerned citizens, we expect the completion of the second stage of improvement until the end of August. Currently, the work is proceeding in time”, - Ilsur Metshin commented.

This year, a new square will open on Avangardnaya street at the territory of the industrial district Teplokontrol.

“We were able to carry out integrated approach at this area– thanks to the implementation of the Our yard program, 21 yards adjacent to the square will be repaired”, - I.Kulyazhev said. The square with an area of 8137 sq. m. will appear instead of an underdeveloped site with a large garbage area and unequipped parking, he added.

“Life in the remote areas has always been different from the center. However, we systematically worked in this direction, we tried to ensure the same level as in the central ones, – said I.Metshin. – Not as fast as we would like, but we are achieving results”.

“Finally, the turn came to Teplokontrol – an industrial district, where we started the transformation by building the Bustan sports complex for the Universiade,- the Mayor said. - Today, we are creating a small park here that corresponds to the level of the capital of the Republic. We are very grateful to Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov for this large, systematic work. We hope that all our ambitious plans will be implemented under his leadership”.
