On October 15, the road services in Kazan will start operating in winter mode. During the winter period, 577 cleaning vehicles will work on the streets of the city. The municipal road companies serve over 20 million square meters of the city road network. To date, 82% of vehicles has already been prepared for work in winter mode.

«During the winter period, the city services make a huge amount of work. The city has prepared for the season: there is necessary equipment, stocks of deicing materials, drivers and workers are being resupplied to ensure work in one and a half shifts. The street and road network has grown by 17% over the past 10 years, reaching over 20 million square meters. Each contractor must be aware of its responsibility, as poor work is unacceptable! Winter clearly shows who is working and who is not. The safety and comfort of the citizens depends on the coherence of our work. We must enter the season orderly, without failures and excuses. This is a time of increased responsibility for all services, and we look forward to coordinated and clear work», –- said Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan.

The winter fleet of city services includes 577 cleaning vehicles, as well as 28 attachments (sand spreaders, rotary snow blowers, and others). Presently, 476 vehicles are prepared to operate in winter conditions, which is 82% of the total number.
