Nail Maganov and Ilsur Metshin visit the hockey match of amateur teams

The President of Ak Bars hockey club and the Mayor of Kazan discussed the development of yard ice hockey.

The development of yard ice hockey in the capital of Tatarstan was discussed today by Ilsur Metshin, Mayor of Kazan, and Nail Maganov, CEO of PJSC TATNEFT, President of the Ak Bars hockey club and the Tatarstan Hockey Federation. They visited school No. 70, where the hockey rink was renovated last year. Today, Berket and Energetik teams competed in the final of the Cup of the best teams of the Kirovsky and Moskovsky districts among athletes born in 2008-2009.

Today, the President of the Ak Bars hockey club and the Tatarstan Hockey Federation Nail Maganov and the Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin visited the match of the yard ice hockey teams Berket and Energetik at school No. 70.

The hockey rink was renovated by the Ak Bars hockey club. The side boards and protection screens were renewed, and the design was completed. The same renovation on the initiative of Nail Maganov was carried out at five more hockey rinks at schools No. 65, No. 62, gymnasiums No. 96 and No. 125, as well as on Sosnovaya Street in the village of Petrovsky.

In total, there are 81 hockey rinks in Kazan, most of which are located on the territory of schools. Thanks to this, more than 1,600 children and teenagers have the opportunity to practice winter sports nearby their homes under the guidance of 73 coaches. At the end of the match Nail Maganov and Ilsur Metshin discussed the development of yard ice hockey in Kazan.

“Hockey is a sport that tempers character. Not all the young players who went out on the ice today connect their lives with professional sports and become Ak Bars players. But the skills that hockey develops will definitely be useful in the future. You will be competitive, healthy and successful in your life!”- said Nail Maganov, President of the Tatarstan Hockey Federation, congratulating the winners.

The Berket team won with a score of 5:2. N.Maganov and I.Metshin handed the team captains certificates of 500 thousand rubles for the purchase of sports equipment.

“As a fan of Tatarstan hockey, I am glad that this amazing game is popular in the republic,”- I. Metshin said. He expressed gratitude to Tatarstan President, President of the Tatarstan Hockey Federation Nail Maganov, the management of the Ak Bars hockey club for the support of this sport, as well as for the support of children's hockey.

The city stage of the Golden Puck in the Yard Sport division will start tomorrow in Kazan, in which Berket and Energetik will also play. In total, this year's tournament brought together 1,920 young hockey players who play in 96 teams. According to the chairman of the Committee of Physical Culture and Sports Linar Garipov, competitions are held in 2 divisions: Yard Sport and Sport.

Twenty-four amateur teams that won the games of the district stage will compete for gold medals in the city final of the tournament. In the Sport division, the games of the city stage have already completed, now the players are competing at the republican stage. The winners will represent Kazan and Tatarstan at the Golden Puck super final, which will be held in the capital of the republic in May. Four best teams in each age category from all over Russia will play at the final stage of the tournament.

For reference, in 2022, the Kazan hockey team Ak Bure for the first time became the silver medalist of the Golden Puck All-Russian tournament. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of Kazan, congratulated the young hockey players with a medal place and handed the athletes letters of thanks.
