Ilsur Metshin: “This is a tribute to the labor feat, recognition of our veterans and enterprises”

Vladimir Putin supported the proposal on awarding Kazan the honorary City of Labor Valor title at a Pobeda (Victory) Organizing Committee meeting

Kazan will be awarded the honorary title City of Labor Valor. Today, at a meeting of the Pobeda (Victory) Organizing Committee, Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the awarding Kazan and 19 other Russian cities with a new honorary title.

Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin commented on this decision: “We absolutely fairly honor Kazan citizens and thousands of people for whom Kazan was a second home during the Great Patriotic War. This is a tribute to the labor feat of our older generation, recognition of all home front veterans and our numerous enterprises that worked for the Victory."

Vladimir Putin initiated the awarding of the City of labor valor title to Russian cities at the end of 2019. The honorary title is awarded to cities whose citizens made a significant contribution to achieving Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
