I. Metshin: “More than 2.7 thousand students have come to new schools, it is a special event”

48 school territories, 39 canteens and 30 gyms were updated along with the construction of new schools.

(KZN.RU, September 2, Alsu Safina). Today, a new school year has begun for 137 thousand schoolchildren of Kazan, the first school ring sounded for 19 thousand. The festive day was marked by the opening of the largest school in Tatarstan for 1501 places in the residential complex “Vesna”, another school opens today in the residential complex “Svetlaya Dolina” for 1224 places. Thus, more than 2.7 thousand students came to new schools. Ilsur Metshin, the Mayor of the city, noted at the Business Monday, this is a special event for residents of these remote micro-districts, and a big step for transferring more children to study on the first shift.

“Any construction and opening of a new school is an event. But for these two residential complexes it is a special event because they are far enough away from the city center”, said the head of the city.

The Mayor of Kazan noted that all the conditions for learning were created for students in new schools. “Luxurious subject cabinets, recreation areas, swimming pools, gyms just like we built for the Universiade”, said Ilsur Metshin. “A concert hall with 500 seats. Great stage equipment: lights, light music, microphones”. The Mayor thanked all the builders, thanks to whom new educational institutions appeared in Kazan.

Both new schools have the status of multi-disciplinary ones and will work in a full-time format. After classes, students will be able to choose something to their liking in a variety of sections.

I. Metshin noted that schools were built according to federal programs. “In this hall, I shared my joy with you when President Vladimir Putin said in his message that schools would be built. We have 14% of children studying in the second shift, and the new 2.7 thousand places, plus two outbuildings are a big step forward”, said the head of the city.

He also expressed gratitude to Rustam Minnikhanov, the President of the RT, for the overhaul program. “It’s the same as coming to new schools for children who have come to renovated schools”, noted I. Metshin. The Mayor of Kazan recalled that 48 school territories, 39 canteens and 30 gyms were repaired in the city to the 45 WorldSkills Kazan 2019. “This is all in the treasury of our education, such conditions are created for students and teachers”, marked the Mayor of Kazan.
